Some places don’t need trends, smoke machines or fancy storytelling.
They just need to do things properly.
North Bay is one of those places.
Tucked away on rue Nicolas Martha, North Bay opened in 2021, right after Covid, at a time when opening a restaurant felt almost rebellious. And yet, here they are — quietly building a loyal following with a concept that’s refreshingly simple: homemade food, done seriously well.
👉 Almost everything here is made in-house.
Bread and cheese are the only exceptions.
The rest? Sauces, butchery, burgers, chicken, falafel — all prepared on site.
That already tells you a lot.
A Canadian Soul, a Luxembourg Address
Behind North Bay are two owners originally from Toronto, with 25 years in the business. They moved to Luxembourg 13 years ago, and North Bay feels very much like the place they wanted to create for themselves: relaxed, unpretentious, focused on quality rather than hype.
It’s not about reinventing food.
It’s about doing it right.
The room is small, warm, and welcoming — the kind of place where you immediately feel comfortable staying a little longer than planned.

What We Ate (And Why You Should Care)
We went for two of their classics:
🍔 The Deluxe Burger
Juicy, well-seasoned meat, cooked properly, no nonsense. Everything works together — no ingredient trying to steal the show. This is a burger for people who actually like burgers.
🥙 The Falafel Burger
A real surprise. Crunchy on the outside, soft inside, full of flavour, and beautifully balanced with fresh toppings. Even if you’re not usually a falafel person, this one might convert you.
And then… the fries.
🍟 The Fries
Golden, crispy, generously topped with cheese. Comfort food at its finest, the kind you don’t overthink — you just enjoy.
Brunch, Lunch, Dinner — Know Before You Go
North Bay keeps things simple, but it’s good to plan depending on when you go:
- Brunch: Saturday & Sunday
⏰ 9:00 – 13:30
⚠️ Only 14 seats — booking is highly recommended (11:00 is peak time) - Lunch: from 11:30
- Dinner: until 22:00 (kitchen closes at 21:30)
There’s a break between lunch and dinner, reopening around 18:30.
👉 Lunch and dinner are usually fine without reservation, unless you’re a big group.
In summer, the patio changes everything — same food, totally different vibe.
Why North Bay Works
Because it’s honest.
No shortcuts.
No pretending.
No overcomplicating things that don’t need it.
North Bay is the kind of place you go once “to try it”… and then quietly add to your rotation. A neighbourhood spot with soul, good food, and people who clearly care about what they’re doing.
Sometimes, that’s exactly what you’re looking for.
Have you been to North Bay yet? Tell me what you ordered — I’m always collecting excuses to go back.
