Sunday Brunch at Brasserie Mansfeld in Clausen

You might remember that I have visited Brasserie Mansfeld a couple of times recently, and each experience gave me another reason to return. After trying the restaurant for lunch and dinner, it was finally time to discover their Sunday brunch.

I should probably start with a confession: I am not really a brunch person. I usually prefer a proper lunch, rather than a meal somewhere between breakfast and lunch. However, the brunch at Mansfeld genuinely surprised me.

Brunch served at the table

The brunch takes place every Sunday from 12:00 to 16:00 and costs €39 per person.

Rather than being presented as a traditional buffet, the food is served à volonté directly at the table. This makes the experience much more relaxed, as you can stay seated and enjoy the different dishes as they arrive.

We were particularly impressed by both the variety of the selection and the generosity of the portions. The table quickly filled with savoury and sweet dishes, making it a brunch designed for sharing and for taking your time.

What is included

The selection was extensive and included charcuterie and cheeses, smoked salmon, hummus, avocado toast, eggs, sausages, baked beans, salads, pastries, pancakes and several desserts.

There was a good balance between classic brunch favourites and more substantial dishes, so the experience felt closer to a complete Sunday lunch than a simple breakfast buffet.

My personal favourites were the hummus, the charcuterie selection, the avocado salad and the pain perdu with salted caramel. The pain perdu was especially worth saving room for, rich and indulgent without being too heavy.

Is the Mansfeld brunch worth it?

Considering the quantity, the variety and the fact that everything is served at the table, I found the brunch to offer excellent value for money.

The beautiful setting also contributes to the experience. As mentioned in my previous posts, Mansfeld is a lovely place to spend a few relaxed hours, whether you visit with friends, as a couple or for a family Sunday meal.

Even as someone who does not normally choose brunch, this is one I would happily return to.
