It is no secret Nonbe is one of my favorite restaurants in Luxembourg.
Last Sunday I was able to join a unique experience, the Menu Omasake prepared at the counter by Chef Norihiro Imamura, a menu around sushi, which gave me the possibility to taste the real and most authentic sushi flavors.
The sushi preparation was anticipated by some show-stopping starters, all with exceptional quality ingredients, the king crab to name the one which left me more amazed. But all were mouth-watering.
Then came the time of the sushi, which was prepared in two ways – the Tokyo way and the Osaka one. If you want to taste sushi like in Japan, this is surely the best way to do it. The preparation was accompanied by detailed explanations, so it is also a way for passionates to learn more about the authentic Japanese cuisine. And to watch the chef live in action.
The dinner was concluded with the perfect chocolate and pear dessert, just another demonstration Nonbe is a complete experience, from the beginning to the end.
I had the Sake pairing with the menu, but you can also pair wine, the menu has numerous possibilities.
The Omakase experience happens once per month and is limited to 10 people: next ones will be on November 26th (sushi again) and December 17th (cuisine). You can book directly at Nonbe by phone or private message on Facebook.
Totally a recommended experience for a dinner different than usual, to learn about Japanese cuisine, for a date, with friends or even alone.
