Last week I had the chance to preview Komptoir K’, the brand-new concept by Kaempff-Kohler, and it truly feels like the beginning of a new chapter for one of Luxembourg’s most iconic maisons.
A place where tradition meets contemporary elegance — without losing the soul that made Kaempff-Kohler a reference.
And yes: the legendary pâté au riesling is still here. Intertemporel. Untouchable.
What to Expect at Komptoir K’
🥐 Pâtisserie breaks after shopping
A refined selection of pastries and sweet treats, perfect for a mid-day pause.
🍸 Afterwork with signature mixology
Including a house gin infused with bergamot — a small detail that sets the tone.
🍽️ Dinners (Thu–Fri–Sat)
A seasonal brasserie-style menu with a modern touch, combining comfort and technique.
The kitchen is led by a chef with 34 years of experience, originally from the Champagne region, with a career spanning Switzerland and the South of France — a background that shows in the balance of precision and sunshine on the plate.
The Space
Bright, airy, and beautifully designed, Komptoir K’ offers:
- Around 40 seats outdoors
- Approximately 50 seats indoors
- A versatile layout suitable for private events of 25–30 guests
It’s the kind of place that works equally well for a casual stop, a business lunch, or a long evening with friends.
Phase 1: Komptoir K’
Phase 2: The Boutique Hotel (Coming 2026)
The opening of Komptoir K’ is only the beginning.
Upstairs, Kaempff-Kohler is preparing a boutique hotel, scheduled for mid-2026 (date to be confirmed).
Planned features include:
- Business rooms equipped for videoconferencing
- Light and connected room configurations
- A 60 m² rooftop suite with a 40 m² terrace overlooking the palace and the renovated square
- A “Hotel 2.0” concept with no traditional reception
- Long-term stay options
And for National Day eve… the rooftop suite may well become the spot to book.
Final Thoughts
With its blend of established craftsmanship and a contemporary, urban design, Komptoir K’ is set to become a notable addition to the evolving culinary landscape of Place Guillaume.
