A love letter to pasta, pizza, and places that feel like a little escape to Italy.
There’s something about Italian food that speaks directly to the soul. It’s not just about ingredients—it’s about warmth, rhythm, and flavors that stay with you long after the last bite. For me, the best Italian restaurants aren’t always the trendiest. They’re the ones where pasta is perfectly al dente, wine flows effortlessly, and the vibe makes you want to linger.
Whether you’re in the mood for rustic charm, family-style comfort, or something sleek and sophisticated, these five Italian spots in Luxembourg have earned a permanent place on my cravings list.
📍 Trattoria Da Gino – Gare
Tucked just off the main station area, this place is pure charm without the fuss. It’s the kind of restaurant that doesn’t need to try too hard—because everything just works. From their pasta flambéed in the wheel to a dangerously good Negroni, it’s old-school hospitality at its best. The service? Warm, fast, and full of personality. Come hungry.

📍 Caffè Torino – Centre
Chic, bright, and buzzing, Caffè Torino is your Italian escape in the heart of the city. The terrace is one of the most elegant in town—perfect for a golden hour spritz or an espresso that turns into wine. Their pasta dishes are beautifully presented and packed with flavour. Think elegance without the fuss.

📍 Oio – Clausen
This is fine dining with Italian soul—and truly Michelin material. At Oio, every dish is a statement—from carefully crafted tasting menus to an unforgettable cheese cart that’s worth the trip alone. The setting is sleek, the service is polished, and the entire experience feels curated yet effortless. When you want to impress (yourself or someone else), this is the place.

📍 Nonna Nennetta – Belval
Hands down: my favourite pizza in Luxembourg. Nonna Nennetta is vibrant, easy-going, and completely family-friendly. I especially love it for a relaxed Saturday lunch. The crust is just right, the toppings generous, and the menu offers something for everyone. It’s the kind of place that turns into a go-to after just one visit.

📍 Casa 56 – Weiswampach
A destination worth the drive. Casa 56 serves some of the freshest, most flavourful fish dishes in the country—alongside Neapolitan-style pizza. But what really makes it special? You can book a table inside the kitchen and watch the whole show unfold in front of you. It’s warm, unique, and a true hidden gem in the north.

Which one have you tried—or which one’s next on your list?
