Let’s face it — Luxembourg isn’t exactly known for budget dining. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible to eat out well without hitting triple digits.
Whether you’re in the mood for bao, pizza, or South Indian comfort food, these seven places have you covered. Each one is affordable, delicious, and packed with personality. Here’s where I go when I want great food that doesn’t kill my Aperol budget.
📍La Storia — Esch-sur-Alzette
Old-school charm with real-deal Italian food. Tucked just behind Esch’s city centre, La Storia is the kind of place where locals return weekly. The seafood pasta is a standout at just 17€, and you can grab a pizza starting at 7.5€ or a piadina for even less. The team is young, friendly, and the terrace? Just lovely for summer evenings.

📍Eccola Qua — Boulevard Royal
No-fuss, no-frills, and right in the heart of the city’s financial district. Eccola Qua is a well-loved secret among those who know: huge terrace, hearty focaccias, and drinks that don’t break the bank. A Spritz and a giant focaccia come in around 15€, and my forever favourite is the tuna focaccia — salty, layered, and surprisingly satisfying. Tip: check their Instagram for weekly deals.

📍Krishna Vila — Gare
A calm oasis in the chaos of Gare. Krishna Vila serves authentic South Indian cuisine, fully vegetarian (with lots of vegan options), in a surprisingly elegant setting. Think moody lighting, soft music, and gold cutlery. Their masala dosa is just 10.90€, and the full thali is 15€. Perfect for a quiet, flavourful night without going overboard.

📍Moien Vietnam — Belval
Simple, friendly, and always satisfying. Moien Vietnam is great for a casual weekday dinner, especially if you’re near Belval. I always go for the pho (12€) and crispy spring rolls, both generous and comforting. The vibe is low-key and family-friendly, but the food is full of character.

📍L’Osteria — Belval & multiple locations
Yes, it’s a chain — but hear me out. The pizzas are enormous (14.5€ and easily shareable), and the atmosphere is fun, trendy, and perfect for groups. Add a cocktail and some laughs, and you’ve got a great evening that doesn’t feel cheap — but stays affordable.

📍Dodo — Luxembourg City Centre
A newer player in town, and already a go-to for anyone craving crispy, spicy fried chicken. Burgers, tenders, loaded fries — most items fall between 9€ and 15€. Order at the counter, grab a seat, and enjoy that perfect balance of crunch, heat, and satisfaction.

📍Bao Bar — Clausen
Small but mighty. Bao Bar is hands-down my favourite bao spot in town. The food is flawless: soft bao, bold fillings, and vibrant sauces that feel both comforting and high-end. The setting is cozy, warm, and beautifully styled — Instagrammable without trying too hard. Bao start at 5.5€, with combos under 20€, and the service is always lovely.

Your wallet stays happy, your plate stays full, and you still get to enjoy some of the best bites Luxembourg has to offer.
