Last week, we have been invited to try the new Mosaic menu deal at Restaurant Amelys, inside the Hotel Le Royal.
Not sure you know, but both the restaurant and the bar of Le Royal are not just for guests for the hotel, but they are open to the public.
For lunch, next to a la carte menu, Amelys proposes now a Mosaic menu: you can combine two or three dishes from a shorter menu, which in size are in-betweens starter and main. They are all coming together, hence the “mosaic”.
The deal is perfect also because you can tell them in advance and have an express lunch in only 30 minutes. If you work in the city centre, you probably know there are few options of fancy restaurants, but usually having lunch takes much more time and it is not always feasible with working hours.
As for our lunch, I had beef tacos and egg parfait with parsnip cream and crisp quinoa. Vianee, my partner in crime, had the shrimps salad next to the egg.
The sommelier helped us to pair our lunch with some great wines.
To close our meal with a sweet note, we ordered a café gourmand, which included several delicious small bites. All our dishes were pleasing to all the sense, especially the taste 😋.
Despite the rainy weather, the atmosphere of Amelys restaurant is bright and pleasantly warm.
I find it is the perfect place not just for a business meeting, but also for a lunch date or to catch up with a friend, like in our case. The service is 5-stars hotel level, so you will definitely feel spoiled, without unnecessary formalities.
Reservation is not needed, except for the brunch.
Pictures our lunch date, followed by my final considerations.

What I liked about Restaurant Amelys at Hotel Le Royal:
– The location doesn’t need introduction, but I love to have lunch (or drinks or dinner) in a hotel. It has this relaxed, cosmopolitan feeling, with a top class service.
– The Mosaic lunch deal is perfect for several reasons: it can be express in 30 minutes and you have the possibility to combine several small dishes – sometimes I don’t feel for eating just one bigger thing.
– Food was delicious, with a special mention to the café gourmand.
What I liked a bit less about Restaurant Amelys at Hotel Le Royal:
– I wished the weather was still good to enjoy the terrace.
In conclusion, the Mosaic deal at the Amelys Restaurant at Hotel Le Royal is perfect not just for a business meeting, but also for a date or a catch-up with a friend (like in my case!). You can definitely be spoiled in a short time and without breaking the bank.
